Hong Kong: Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) selectors today have announced the squad for the Asia Cup Qualifiers to be held in Malaysia on 29th August - 8th September 2018.
Babar Hayat has once again been named as Captain and will lead the team in the qualifiers.
Fast bowling all-rounder Haroon Arshad and leg spin bowler Jhatha Subramanyan provide fresh energy and an abundance of skill to the squad while middle order batsman Waqas Khan has made a comeback in the squad after being left out of the World Cup Qualifiers held in March 2018.
CHK’s Head Coach Simon Cook has been working hard with the players during the post season break and is equally excited by the squad assembled in conditions which should encourage the team to perform to their highest potential.
Hong Kong captain Babar Hayat fresh from being a part of the winning Vancouver Knights team in the recently completed Global T20 competition held in Canada is equally excited in taking on the upcoming challenges in Malaysia
The Hong Kong Team will depart to Malaysia on 17th August 2018 for a preparation tour where they will play 3-4 practices matches against local opposition and make use of the turf training wickets in Kuala Lumpur.
