Karachi: Pakistan have named four uncapped players in Test squad for the tours of Ireland and England on Sunday.
Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Usman Sallahuddin and Saad Ali received maiden Test call-ups. Shan Masood, the opener, misses out due to a knee injury while there was no place for experienced pacer Wahab Riaz in the 16-member squad.
Saad, the 24-year-old who plays for United Bank Limited, compiled 957 runs in the 2017-18 Quaid-Azam Trophy, topping the batting charts. His highest individual score of 232 was notched up against Pakistan Television.
They also including the nephew of former captain and current chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, in their test squad.
Left-hander opener Imam-ul-Haq, who has played four-one-day internationals, scored a century on his debut against Sri Lanka last October.
The other new faces in the 16-member squad include batsmen Fakhar Zaman, Saad Ali and Usman Salahuddin. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan will fill in for slow-bowling spearhead Yasir Shah who is out with a hip injury.
Ireland play their inaugural test against Pakistan from May 11-15 before the South Asian team take on England in tests at Lord's (May 24-28) and Headingley (June 1-5).
Pakistan will then return to England for a two-Test series followed by two T20Is versus Scotland.
