Dublin: Ireland's Tri-series one day international against Bangladesh was abandoned after less than a full innings due to rain on Friday.
Tamim Iqbal had scored 64 off 88 balls before rain called a halt to the Bangladesh innings with the tourists on 157 for four after 31.1 overs.
Ireland had won the toss at Malahide and chose to field but after an early end was called to the Bangladesh innings, the decision to abandon the entire match was taken later with the hosts unable to face a single ball.
There was a blow for Ireland on the morning of the match, when leading batsman Ed Joyce was ruled out with a stiff back. Stuart Thompson was brought in as the extra seamer on a green Irish wicket.
Joyce hopes to be fit for Ireland's next game against New Zealand on Sunday while Bangladesh will return to action next Wednesday for their game against the Kiwis, when Mortaza will be available.
