Kingston: West Indies batsman Kieran Powell has earned a recall to the Test squad for the series opener against Pakistan.
Powell, 27, is in line for his first Test appearance since 2014 after being named in a 13-man squad for the clash at Sabina Park starting Friday.
The left-hander averages just 27.48 in the five-day format but received the backing of Courtney Browne, the chairman of the selection panel.

On Singh, Browne said: "Vishal has been one of the more consistent batsmen in the Regional 4-Day Tournament over the last few seasons and had a very good A-Team series against Sri Lanka last year.
The clash in Kingston is the first of a three-match series.
