Lahore: Pakistan has recalled fast bowler Umar Gul for its ODI series against England and Ireland. The 32-year-old Gul last played a one-day international against Bangladesh in 2015. He went to New Zealand in January where he played only in the Twenty20 format.
Pakistan is scheduled to play two ODIs in Ireland on Aug. 18 and 20 in Dublin, before a five-match ODI series against England, starting in Southampton on Aug. 24.
The selectors have also included rookie 22-year-old Hasan Ali after the right-arm paceman performed well for Pakistan “A” during its tour of England.
Left-handed opener Sami Aslam has been rewarded for his half centuries in the third test against England.
“While picking the squad, the team management and skipper were consulted and all concerned gave their consent in this regard,” chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said.
