Belfast: Ed Joyce was partnered by Kevin'O'Brien for a 144 run stand for the fourth wicket to help Ireland level the five-match ODI series 1-1 against Afghanistan.
The 3rd ODI at Belfast showed Ireland’s batting prowess led by Ed Joyce and Kevin O’Brien.
Asked to chase a sub-par total of 236 set by Afghanistan, the hosts were off to a poor start losing as many as 3-wickets with only 60-odd runs on the board.
Joyce who opened that batting was their till the end of the innings notching up his fourth ever ODI ton and remaining unbeaten at 105*. Joyce was superbly supported by O’Brien who himself made a 85-ball 75.
