Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the venues for the five-Test series between India and England, later this year.
England will be touring India for a long tour, which will consist of 5 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals.
India will be playing as many as 13 Tests at home in their cricketing season, and 5 are against England.
England’s tour of India 2016-17 will begin in November 2016, and will go on till February 2017. India and England last clashed in a five-match Test series in 2014 in England, in a series in which India were drubbed 1-3 by their hosts
The five Tests between India and England will be played at Mohali, Rajkot, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam and Chennai. While the venues were announced for the India versus England 2016 series, the dates and schedule for the same will be announced in time to come.
It was earlier expected that India and England will be playing 5 ODIs and one-off T20I, which has now been revised two 3 matches each in the shorter formats.
