Karachi: Pakistan squad named Wednesday for the three-Test series against England in the United Arab Emirates, which starts in October.
Fawad Alam return in longes format after being named in in the 15-man Pakistan squad to face England in the UAE. His last five-day game was against New Zealand in November 2009 but has been a heavy scorer in first-class cricket. Over the last 12 months, he has two centuries - 204 and 164 - and five fifties in 14 innings.
The middle-order is well stoked with captain Misbah-ul Haq, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan being first-choice picks. Asad Shafiq, the incumbent No. 6, has also scored three centuries since November 2014. Ahmed Shehzad and Shan Masood have been retained as openers. Mohammad Hafeez has been picked to play as a specialist batsman as well.

Rookie paceman Imran Khan junior was rewarded for his excellent bowling in Pakistani domestic cricket with a first-time inclusion in the national Twenty20 squad for the tour of Zimbabwe.
