Karachi: Legspinner Yasir Shah and fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and pacer Sohail Tanvir have been recalled to Pakistan's Twenty20 squad for the forthcoming two-match series against Sri Lanka.
Fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who had fractured his hand during the Test series against Sri Lanka last month, has been named in the squad, but will be included only once he clears a fitness test.
Meanwhile, selectors are worried about Afridi's slump in form as well as Hafeez's inconsistency in the shortest format of the game.
Although Afridi has proved his mettle as a bowler by taking eight wickets in the last seven matches, he has scored only 98 runs.
On the other hand, Hafeez, who has played eight T20s since January 2014, has been able to score only 104 runs and has taken just two wickets in the same number of matches.
Pakistan T20 squad: Shahid Afridi (captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Nauman Anwar, Mohammad Hafeez, Mukhtar Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah, Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz or Ziaul Haq.
