Fatullah: Shikhar Dhawan hammered an unbeaten 150 off 158 balls and Murali Vijay scores 89 off 178 gives India solid starts in the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Fatullah on Wednesday.
Left-handed Dhawan hit 21 boundaries in his third Test century after India's captain Virat Kohli elected to bat on a slow wicket that is expected to assist turn later in the match.
The rain interruption 25 minutes before the scheduled break may have robbed Dhawan a chance of scoring a century before lunch, but he was lucky to still be at the crease.
Bad weather washed out the post-lunch session.
India were 107 for no loss after winning the toss when rain stopped play 25 minutes before the scheduled lunch break. Shikhar Dhawan was unbeaten on 74 and Murali Vijay was on 33.
After weather cleared over Fatullah, the umpires decided to resume play at 3.30 pm local time.
India scores 132-runs in final session.
Just before the players went off Dhawan mistimed a shot off left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, however Shuvagata Hom failed to grasp a difficult chance at short mid-wicket after getting his hands on the ball.
The hosts went in with four spinners, including leg-break bowler Jubair Hossain, leaving Mohammad Shahid as the lone seamer in the side.
