Lahore: Azhar Ali scored an a century as Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by six wickets in the second one-day international of their ongoing bilateral series in Lahore on Friday.
Pakistan takes a 2-0 lead in three match series. Last ODI will played on Sunday at same venue.
Pakistan started their chase strongly, with captain Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed forging a strong partnership, before Chibhabha got the vital breakthrough and dismissed Sarfraz. Thereafter, Pakistan losing wicket of Mohammad Hafeez on 15.
Shoaib Malik (36*) and Haris Sohail (52*) added an unbroken 60 partnership takes Pakistan to series win.
Earlier, Middle order batsman Sikander Raza scored a fighting hundred while opener Chamu Chibhabha scored a career best 99 as Zimbabwe posted 268-7.
Raza made an 84-ball 100 not out with eight fours and three sixes while Chibhabha's 100-ball knock featured 11 boundaries and a six after Zimbabwe were sent into bat by Pakistan.
Zimbabwe were forced to make four changes after their regular captain Elton Chigumbura was suspened for two matches over a slow over rate in the previous game.
