Lahore: Zimbabwe may be first major cricket team to tour the country since terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team in Lahire in 2009.
Zimbabwe could become the first test-playing country to tour Pakistan since gunmen attacked the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore six years ago.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said Thursday that Zimbabwe was willing to tour Pakistan for five one-day international matches and he hoped the tour will go ahead next month.
"We have told them they could come in May," Khan said in Lahore. "The weather will be very hot (next month), but it will be a big thing for us if they come."
Khan will meet with officials of the Zimbabwe Cricket Union on the sidelines of an ICC meeting in Dubai next week.
"I hope you will receive good news very soon," he said.
No test-playing nation has toured Pakistan because of security concerns since gunmen attacked the bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore in 2009.
