Gabba Test Could Be Rescheduled

Brisbane: In wake of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes tragic passing away, there is a possibility that the first Test between Australia and India which is to be played at the Brisbane Cricket Ground starting December 4 could be rescheduled.

According to a report in 'The Australian' the Australian Test squad was unanimous in their decision not to play the match after players met at in Sydney on Thursday where they were addressed by Michael Clarke after the death of Hughes.

The report stated, "There is a chance Cricket Australia could reschedule the Gabba Test in the period between the Adelaide (December 12-16) and Melbourne (December 26-30) Tests".

Australian Test players David Warner, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and Nathan Lyon were part of the Sheffield Sheid game where Hughes was hit of the head and the report further adds, "Test players David Warner, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and Nathan Lyon were on the field when Hughes was struck and attended to him in the terrible minutes after the extent of the damage became apparent. What they saw on the pitch, what they saw in the hospital and the grief they feel has stripped them of the desire to play cricket."

Cricket Australia had on Thursday said that it was not thinking about the Test match and a decision would be taken at the appropriate time and the BCCI has been supportive.
