Lincoln: Brendon McCullum ran out Alasdair Evans on the last ball to give a New Zealand XI a one-run win over Scotland in their 50-overs game on Wednesday.
No. 11 Evans faced the final delivery with Scotland on the verge of a shock win against what was a thinly-disguised full New Zealand team. He shot went to McCullum at short cover and the New Zealand captain sprinted to the non-striker's end, knocking off the bails as Evans dived for his ground.
Earlier, McCullum and allrounder Corey Anderson made 50s as New Zealand was dismissed for 263 on the last ball. Kyle Mills and Matt Henry added 55 for the last wicket.
In reply, Matt Machan made 83 from 86 balls while Freddie Coleman and Hamish Gardiner both made half-centuries for Scotland.
