Dhaka: Allrounder Shakib-al-Hasan will be a part of a full strength Bangladesh cricket team that will participate in the Asian Games to be held in Incheon, South Korea.
The 15-member squad announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the Games also include pacer Rubel Hossain, who is making a comeback after an injury forced break.
However, the BCB were considerate on national team skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, who was allowed to skip the Asian Games because of his marriage scheduled for September 27. The Incheon Games will be held between September 19 and October 4. Bangladesh will be led by Mashrafe Mortaza in absence of Rahim.
Shakib, who is serving a suspension on account of indiscipline, will be free to play as his six months ban which was reduced to three and half months by the BCB, ends on September 15.
Offspinner Sohag Gazi and fast-bowler Al-Amin Hossain, who were reported for suspect bowling action recently, were excluded by the BCB selectors.
Bangladesh will compete in the Asian Games alongside teams from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives and hosts South Korea. Bangladesh won the men's gold in the 2010 edition of Asian Games in Guangzhou, by defeating Afghanistan in the summit clash.
