Southampton: England wrapped up a 266-run victory over India in the third Test at Southampton to level the series at 1-1 and seal their first win in 11 Tests.
India began the final day on 112-4 chasing a notional 445 to win, which would have been the highest successful run chase in Test history.
James Anderson struck twice early on, while Moeen Ali picked up the last four wickets for Test-best figures of 6-67.
Overnight batsman Ajinkya Rahane was left stranded on 52 not out.
Lack of application from India's middle order and frequent strikes from James Anderson, and later Moeen Ali's maiden five-wicket haul, meant England wrapped up the third Test by 266 runs to level the five-match series.
After 10 Tests without a victory, England conjured up the perfect Test at the Ageas Bowl to snap the streak: batsmen scored runs, bowlers took wickets and India were never given an inch.
Given little over four sessions and 132 overs to save the match, India folded inside two and 66.4 overs. Four wickets were lost on the fourth evening, and resuming on 112 for 4, the last six fell in a heap on the final morning as India folded for 178. Moeen finished with 6 for 67, giving him eight wickets in the match and 15 in the series.
