Sydney: Trevor Bayliss, the former Sri Lanka coach, has been appointed acting coach for Australia's Twenty20 home internationals against South Africa in November, Cricket Australia said on Monday.
New South Wales and Sydney Sixers coach Bayliss has been called in to give head coach Darren Lehmann a week's break to prepare for India tour of Australia and the ICC World Cup 2015.
The T20 matches against South Africa in early November fall just days after Lehmann returns from a tour against Pakistan in to the United Arab Emirates.
Australia and New Zealand will co-host the 50-over World Cup next February-March, after which the Baggy Greens head on tour to the West Indies and then to reprise the Ashes in England.
