After showers delayed the start until 16:00 BST, Ian Bell scored 50 to help England reach 167-6 in 20 overs.
Michael Leask kept Scotland in contention with 42 off 16 balls.
But his wicket triggered a collapse as the Scots slumped from 95-4 to 133-9 to lose by 39 runs (D/L method), with James Tredwell taking 4-40.
Earlier Scotland have won the toss and have opted to field after rain delay.
The only ODI between Scotland and England reduce 23 overs a side affair after delayed due to rain.

This is England's first match since Peter Moores was re-appointed head coach and their first in any format since an embarrassing 45-run loss to the Netherlands at the World Twenty20 in Chittagong in March.
Scotland have qualified for next year's one-day international World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where they will be in the same pool as cross-border rivals England.
