Karachi: Deprived of cricket at home due to security concerns, Pakistan have something to look forward to outside their turf after striking a deal with Sri Lanka for an away series on the sidelines of the ICC meet in Dubai.
The tour dates are yet to be decided by the respective boards but the Men in Green are expected to travel to the Island nation at the end of July.
The series will kick off a busy season for Pakistan with a full Australia series and matches against New Zealand in the UAE come October.
For Sri Lanka though, the tour will be the third in quick succession, following a trip to England and the home series against South Africa.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have met quite a number of times in recent times after the islanders played three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20s in the UAE in December and January.
The two sides also locked horns in two Asia Cup fixtures. The teams had shared the Test series in the UAE, while Lanka had won their previous Test series in Sri Lanka 1-0.
