Netherlands Upset England by 45 runs

Chittagong - Netherlands drew the biggest upset of the ICC World Twenty20 and ended their campaign on a high as they stunned England by 45 runs in Super 10 stage league match.

JC Buttler was the fifth man to fall as he was caught by Seelaar at mid wicket off van Beek on the final delivery of the 10th over at the score of 42.

After a cautious start during a modest chase, England's top order collapsed like a pack of cards.

At the score of 19, both openers Michael Lumb and Alex Hales were back in pavilion.

Eoin Morgan (6) and Moeen Ali (3) too failed to rescue the side and went back without even reaching double figure.

Earlier, England skipper Stuart Broad took three wickets to restrict the Netherlands down to 133/5 on Monday.

Broad unleashed a tight line and length to finish with 3-24 in his four overs as the Netherlands failed to score big after they were put into bat on a flat Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium pitch.

Wesley Barresi top-scored with a 45-ball 48 studded with two boundaries and two sixes.

Barresi added 50 for the second wicket with Stephan Myburgh who made a brisk 31-ball 39 with six boundaries and a six.

Medium-pacer Ravi Bopara, who conceded just 15 in his four overs, dismissed Myburgh in the 12th over while Stuart Broad had Michael Swart (13), Tom Cooper (eight) and Peter Borren (seven) to give England hopes of finishing the tournament with a win.

England, who lost two of their first three games, and Netherlands, defeated in all their three, were already out of the semifinals.

South Africa had qualified for the last four stage while Sri Lanka and New Zealand will vie for the other semifinal spot from Group one in Chittagong later Monday.

Title-holders the West Indies and Pakistan meet in Dhaka on Tuesday to decide who joins India in the semis from Group two.

England brought in left-arm spinner Stephen Parry in place of Jade Dernbach from the line-up which lost to South Africa on Saturday while the Netherlands remained unchanged.

Earlier, England captain Stuart Broad has won and he opted to bowl first.

England have made a change with Stephen Parry, the left-arm spinner, comes in for Jade Dernbach.
