Bridgetown: Chris Jordan slammed an unbeaten 27 off nine balls and added three wickets and a sensational catch as England held its nerve to sneak a five-run victory over the West Indies in the third and final Twenty20 on Thursday.
Jordan's late blitz, which included four sixes in the final over, put the icing on an England total of 165-6 off 20 overs. The platform was set by openers Michael Lumb (63) and Alex Hales (38).
Medium-pacer Krishmar Santokie claimed 2-27 while fellow left-armer, pacer Sheldon Cottrell took 2-37 on debut.
The West Indies chase was rocked early by Jade Dernbach and Jordan before Lendl Simmons (69) and Denesh Ramdin (33) set up a grandstand finish.
But Dernbach was cool in a final over with the West Indies needing 17, and the hosts finished five short at 160-7 off 20 overs.
Dernbach bowled Dwayne Smith off the inside edge from the first ball of the chase and West Indies dipped to 28-3 when Jordan held a skied return catch off Johnson Charles and then forced Marlon Samuels to drag on.
Ravi Bopara (2-28) further put England on top by dismissing Dwayne Bravo and Andre Russell at 67-5.
Simmons and Ramdin, on his 29th birthday, revived the chase with a stand of 73 off 46 balls.
Simmons blasted seven fours and two sixes off 55 balls while Ramdin hit four fours and a six off 21 balls.
Jordan (3-39) returned to pluck out Ramdin's leg stump and Simmons was run out in the final over leaving 13 needed from three balls.
West Indies skipper Darren Sammy kept the home crowd excited with a big six over square leg but Dernbach tied up the hosts with the final two deliveries.
Earlier, England got a flying start from left-hander Lumb, who slammed nine fours and two sixes, and Hales, whose innings was spiced with four fours and a six.
The pair added 96 off 10.5 overs but once Cottrell claimed both in successive overs, the visitors lost momentum.
Sunil Narine claimed captain Eoin Morgan cheaply and Santokie added the scalps of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes.
But Jordan launched three offside sixes and one huge pull over midwicket off Dwayne Bravo's last over that cost 26 to give England confidence going into the break.
