Afghanistan Seal Historical World Cup Berth

Sharjah: Afghanistan has qualified for the 2015 Cricket World Cup after beating Kenya by seven wickets, writing another heartwarming chapter in the nation's cricketing story.

Afghanistan invited Kenya to bat first after winning the toss and got them all out at a surprisingly low score of 93.

The Afghans reached the target in just 20.5 overs.

Hamza Hotak took two wickets, and the trio of Hamid Hassan, Karim Sadiq, Mohammad Nabi took two.

Mohammad Nabi also starred with the bat and made 46 runs off just 42 balls.

They finished second in the World Cricket League Championship - nine wins in 14 matches - and joined Ireland as the second Associate team in the 2015 World Cup, while the remaining two spots for Associates will be decided by a qualifying tournament in New Zealand in 2014.
