Edinburgh: Cricket minnows Scotland are eyeing a repeat of one of the nation's greatest sporting upsets when they host Australia in Tuesday's one-day international in Edinburgh.
Australia coach Darren Lehmann says the tourists are treating their opponents with plenty of respect, insisting the game is not simply a selection trial for the upcoming five-match series against England.
The nations meet for the fourth time in one-day internationals when they clash at Grange Cricket Club in the Scottish capital.
Unsurprisingly, Australia have registered three comfortable wins over the non-Test nation but the Scots have a source of inspiration more than 130-years-old.
Scotland defeated the touring Australian team in a one-innings match in 1882, three years after the first Scottish Cricket Union was formed.
To this day it remains one of the nation's biggest sporting upsets and the present side has genuine belief it can pull off a similar surprise on Tuesday.
The Scots are using the match as a tune-up for two crucial matches against Ireland, with a place in the 2015 World Cup on offer in those game.
And while Australia also enter the match with more important games looming, Lehmann has suggested he'll play his strongest possible side, led by captain Michael Clarke.
David Warner's surprise omission from the one-day squad could allow Phillip Hughes to make his return while Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Coulter-Nile are likely vying for the spot vacated by injured paceman Mitchell Starc.
