Guyana: Dwayne Bravo won and chose to bowl in the first international game in the country in more than two years, citing the overcast conditions and the showers expected later in the day as reasons for his decision. Devon Smith had to make way for the returning Dwayne Bravo in the batting order, and fast bowler Tino Best sat out as West Indies opted for the younger Jason Holder.
Pakistan's team had a raft of changes from the XI that turned out in their previous ODI, in the Champions Trophy. As expected, Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal return to add a tinge of flamboyance to the lower-middle order. The opener Ahmed Shehzad plays more than two years after his previous ODI, coincidentally also in Providence. Asad Shafiq slots into the middle order, and medium-pacer Asad Ali gets a look-in as well.
The pitch is expected to be on the slower side, with even bounce and not much help for the quicks once it gets old.
