Nottingham: New Zealand by contrast are in excellent shape with batsmen and bowlers in form and they looks overseas whitewash in final ODI at Trent Bridge.
Stuart Broad and Steven Finn: England wait on duo's fitness
England bowlers Stuart Broad and Steven Finn will be assessed on Wednesday to see if they can play in the final one-day international against New Zealand.
Broad, 26, has been out with a bruised knee and Finn, 24, with a sore shin.
However, both bowled in practice on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's third ODI of the series at Trent Bridge.
Broad appears the most likely to play as the pace duo also try to prove their fitness ahead of the Champions Trophy opener against Australia on Saturday.
England's preparations for the tournament have not gone to plan as they have already lost the first two ODI games against New Zealand.
The return of Broad and Finn would give captain Alastair Cook's side a boost and England batsman Ian Bell said: "It's good to see them in the nets bowling.
Cook has admitted that his side needs to improve quickly.
New Zealand will again be without left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori for Wednesday's game.
New Zealand, rather unexpectedly, have the luxury of a dead rubber but have already said that rotation for rotation sake won't happen.
Tim Southee should return after being rested at the Ageas Bowl and workloads of others will be noted. Daniel Vettori is unlikely to be risked ahead of the Champions Trophy.

Pitch and conditions
Trent Bridge is traditionally a swing-bowler's ground and England will be hoping that proves the case if they maintain their Plan A. But the good weather could produce a wicket with plenty of runs in it again.
