Rohit, Johnson Take Mumbai to Second

Pune: Johnson picked up 2-8 while Rohit scored a fine 37 as Mumbai defeated Pune Warriors India in IPL match at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune by five wickets to move up to the second spot.

With a quick couple of wickets early on, Pune looked like they could repeat their 2012 feat. But Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu held one end up nicely and ensured there were no more hurdles in the way.

Pune Warriors India's Yuvraj Singh struck to remove Dinesh Karthik and leave Mumbai Indians tottering at 39/3 in 7.2 overs.

Pune's Ashok Dinda and Ajantha Mendis dismissed Mumbai Indians openers Dwayne Smith and Sachin Tendulkar respectively.

Dinda gave Mumbai Indians early jolt by removing Dwayne Smith on the first delivery of the innings.

Chasing paltry 113-run target, Mumbai suffered massive blow as they lost Sachin Tendulkar for 15.

Earlier, Mitchell Johnson and Lasith Malinga took two wickets apiece to lead discipline bowling attack and help Mumbai Indians restrict beleaguered Pune Warriors India to 112/8.

Abu Nechim also finished with two wickets, taking the wicket of Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the last delivery of the innings.

Pune Warriors India found themselves in spot of bother after fine third wicket partnership and never recovered as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Lasith Malinga struck again to end the 59-run stand between Yuvraj Singh and Manish Pandey by dismissing the latter.

Warriors suffered another jolt when they lost Angelo Mathews for nought, who got run-out on a direct hit by Sachin Tendulkar.

Harbhajan Singh also joined the party to increase Warriors' misery, removing Yuvraj for 33. Yuvraj was unable to convert his start into a big knock.

Yuvraj and Pandey revived Pune Warriors India's innings after losing openers early against Mumbai Indians.

Yuvraj, who has been woefully out-of-form during the tournament, found his touch as he smashed back-to back sixes over deep mid wicket off Pragyan Ojha.

Earlier, Pune Warriors India skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and opted to bat.

Pune have made five changes as Abhishek Nayar, Manish Pandey, Kane Richardson, Ashok Dinda and Ajantha Mendis have been included.
