New Delhi: Going by current form of their middle order batsmen, Mumbai Indians are the firm favourites in the clash against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
Six losses from six games - the last a haunting performance against Chennai in which they failed to bat out 20 overs and scored only 83 chasing 170 - and the Devils have been left scratching their horns for answers.
Their opponents for Sunday's game, Mumbai Indians, too have tended to blow hot and cold. They too are coming off a shambolic outing against Rajasthan Royals in which they managed only 92, lasting just 18.2 overs.
Going by current form, though, and riding on the back of domestic heavyweights Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma, Mumbai are frontrunners for the Kotla clash.
On paper, Virender Sehwag and David Warner for Delhi Daredevils are even more fancied in this format than the legendary line-up of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting, if it is possible to conjure up a more formidable pair.
Yet both sets of openers look off the boil, and while Mumbai have had batsmen down the order to compensate, Delhi cannot boast that luxury.
