Hamilton: India bowled out New Zealand for 279 runs in their first innings on day one of the first Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday. Gambhir and Sehwag helped India to 29/0 on stumps of Day one.

Two deliveries prior to Franlin's dismissal, Ishant took the fourth wicket when he got the ball to come in, Ross Taylor (18) came forward, the ball edged his pads and hit his off-stump through the gap between bat and pad.
