Rajkot: The Indian team arrived in Rajkot for their first One-day International against Engalnd and went through the grill at the Madhavrao Sciendia Stadium in the afternoon on Wednesday. Though it is a new look Indian squad for the One-dayers with Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Yusuf Pathan coming in, the energy and excitement was palpable.
But as news trickled that skipper MS Dhoni would give the afternoon practice a miss there was a very low turnout. But what caught the attnetion was the presence of a huge cache of police personnel with in and outside the stadium.
Ishant Sharma, the Indian fast bowler, has been ruled out of the first ODI against England in Rajkot on Friday due to an ankle sprain.
England facing injury crisis
England's fast bowling department in facing an injury crisis with Staurt Broad being the latest victim. He was rested for Tuesday's practice match against MCA XI. Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of the first ODI against India at Rajkot, but England are hopeful that Stuart Broad will recover from the knee injury which kept him out of the warm-up defeat against the Mumbai Cricket Association XI, on Tuesday.
